My Favourite Programs

Profile

I'm a leading edge baby boomer, retired, and a participant in BodyPump and BodyJam. I'm also passionate about Spin, our brutal rope circuit sprint program, and YOGA!.

I've been working out three to five days a week for over thirty years including :

Weight machines since the very earliest Nautilus models

Aerobics from the time it was mostly women doing cheerleader-like pom-pom routines until step came along.

Step using three risers until I just lost interest and Spin came along.

Cardio KickBoxing with gloves and pillar-bags and lots of rope skipping.

I've got drawers full of 10k race shirts and a couple marathon shirts also. Got burned out on running after about six years.

EFX machines are a great warm up for my achilles' tendons and calves before class, and a little Yoga in the dry sauna after class gets me ready for the next day.

I tutor English to newly arrived Spanish speakers for a couple hours three days a week at a local outreach ministry.

And finally, as everyone knows by now, I'm addicted to on-line message forums and also multi-language chat channels.

¡Nos vemos, chicos!

You have been so quiet...It is not like you to let this whippersnapper Julian 'jvisch' say all he is saying, although I think he hs some valid points....

Then again all the nutters do....

Dear Rex

I have enjoyed all your posts since I have been on the forum...I find them so informative and inspiring.

I am almost 45 and have been an avid gymorexic for the past 25 years after having been an unco geek at school!! I remember when I thought Richard Simmons and Jane Fonda were de rigeur!!

My husband is an American so we are often in Texas, so hoping to find some classes when we go in 10 days time...

I am one of those that enjoys pump for the sake of it and everytime I get to six on consecutive days your voice is in my head!!!

I am seriously considering taking attack training, it is my first love and I cannot get enough, worried about my ancient age.

Just wanted to send you a friendly hello and thanks for all your advice...

Got to get my rest got combat and pump tomorrow at 0830...

Hi Rex:-)

I readed what you whrite in the forum. And it looks realy interresting:-). When I do the BodyAttack I notice it involve moves for the hole body. Included flat push-ups on the flor and ordinary sit-ups to. In the midle of the program:-). But I do not notis any ather ressult for the body. But there is an ather instructer now. The same who is in BodyStep. And she is very scilled, and experienced:-). So I think I will give it a new try. I realy like BodyCombat, and wish better result there. So it will be a "back-up" class for BodyCombat.

You are realy inspireing, Go on:-D

Hi Rex:-)

Y are an very inspirational persion and wice persion about training:-). I in the forum: Re: Jab/Cross technique, you named the point of not compleat the hole jab/cross technique. I agree in that. The same point is importent in squats in Body Pump to. I notis that my knee get very skinny when I do it. But when I quitt, it wos easyer to mobilase more energy in the leggs, and the knee relaxed more. The instructers in Body Combat here make a serius point of aboute that, and start to think big moves. don't only drag the arms out but to move the hole shoulder, and think that we are doing "side-sit-ups" to:-))). For get more power, and burn more energy. That is importent. I have trained Karate befoure. And the Jab/kross is more simmulare, whith some differenses (special how wide out from the stomic the fists shall go) know to the basic fists know.

Have a good day:-)
