Profile

Hello there! Welcome to my little corner of the Les Mills universe. I am delighted to have all of you as friends, near and far. Thanks for checking in with me!

I'm a single gal living with my calico and guinea pig, in an apartment I like to refer to as "the garret" - though in truth it does have lovely light, and a view of a (relatively) quiet city street. I nurse fantasies of buying a cottage house and spending my days in a garden - maybe next year.

I enjoy knitting, container gardening, watching city birds, and Irish American Pub Music (see UisceBeatha dot com). I work in a Montessori school, in administration (which sounds more impressive than "secretary," which is just as accurate a description of what I do).

BODYFLOW

Teaching has been such an incredible journey. I fell in love with BodyFlow from my first class (July 2006) with Robbie, and went to the instructor training six months later. We had a marvelous group of women led by the brilliant Tonna Brown, whom I will always hold as one of my BodyFlow role models and heroes. Her passion for the program shows in everything she does, and her ability to see the potential in us all was so inspiring.

It's been a little more than a year since training, and I've loved every bit of it. BodyFlow is a very important part of who I am. I am continually working to know the program inside and out, and to be the best possible instructor I can be.

BODYPUMP

This has been a bumpier process for me, I must confess. Training weekend was awesome, and Julie Trimble was just completely inspiring - another of my Les Mills heroes. She worked us hard, and really knew how to get the most out of each of us. When I got back home, though, I hit a few blocks: several physical (mostly viruses, yay working at a school), and not a few mental.

It took a little bit of time to rev myself back up, but after getting a regular time slot and spending time really working the program, I've begun to feel like, "YEAH, I'm a BodyPump teacher!" I am more and more excited about teaching this program.

Hey! I REALLY like the new Flow - I thought it was the perfect ending at the end of the day at Q on Sunday (although I didn't do the planks and lower back stuff - I was just too exhausted after Attack!) See ya soon!

Hi Marian

Hope you are well. Hope you are enjoying BB40, it is a beautiful release, it is now my favourite release in balance.

Just starting introducing #41 I also love this one, the tai chi warmup is so graceful and flowing, sun sals is different from what we are used to and, 7.5 mins actually, but the best sun sal yet, not too fused about the standing strength, more like a twist track in my opinion, balance has two tracks good, tests your balance, hip openers looks easy but boy do you feel it, watch out abs, a good strong track as is the back. Members are loving it also.

Take Care

Marian!

So sorry that it has taken me so long to get back to you...I've been doing so much traveling lately that I can hardly catch up!! Just did 2 quarterlies this past round ....one in Philly and the other in Atlanta. I absolutely love BF release #40!!!

As far as upcoming Flow trainings for me...I have one coming up in Culpepper, VA the weekend of May 2-4 and then another in Raleigh NC the weekend of June 27-29th. All other trainings are BodyVive for me!!! Hope that helps....it would be great to see you again!!!!

Take care,
Tonna

Hey it's no problem. I hope you had a great class last night. They are a great group, huge, but really nice. I love the 7:30 crowd. I have some of them in Attack on Tuesday. Those are some dedicated gymmies.
