The key driver of the calculator is the base number of members a club has at a g iven point in time (i.e. at the beginning of the year). Where this is not known accurately an estimate should be used.
In order to be able to calculate the number of new members it is necessary to know the expected proportion of new members that will join the club in the next year. If this figure is not known IHRSA research shows that on average a club will acquire new members equal to 50% of their existing membership over a year. This IHRSA figure can therefore be used as a default figure.
This is the average amount a member pays per annum for their membership.
This is the length of time the club expects a member to remain a member for. According to IHRSA research the average length of membership is 68 weeks, or 1.31 years. This figure can be used as the default if the club does not know the actual figure for their club.
