Getting Started
What equipment is used and why?
VIVE™ balls and VIVE™ tubes are used in some of the tracks because of their ability to exercise the body in different ways. Resistance tubes are currently the most popular form of small equipment being used in clubs for mature participants and allow participants a wide range of workout intensity.
Handweights may also be used as an option in some tracks.
What should I wear?
No special clothes are necessary. Just something comfortable to move in and shoes that give you good stability.
Will BODYVIVE™ burn calories? How many?
Yes, BODYVIVE™ can increase caloric expenditure in participants depending on their choice of workout intensity.
How fit do I need to be to do BODYVIVE™?
First-timers do not need to be fit - just physically active and able to move freely.
We recommend that people get the advice of a medical professional before starting any fitness regime.
How often should I do BODYVIVE™?
There is no prescribed frequency. We suggest three times a week in conjunction with other physical activities.
What type of music is used and why?
BODYVIVE™ is choreographed predominantly to popular, mainstream music from the 1960s and 1970s. The music is easy to listen to and familiar to BODYVIVE™ participants.
