Now about me:

1) I had to walk up 100 steps to get home every day (my father was very smart when it came to the groceries!!)

2) I had two cats in NZ - one called holly and one called tyson

3)I am a half cast (half aus and half NZ) so I am only half bad! I have a new name for it- I am an Auswi

4) I have met Peter Jackson (director)

5) My sixth form (year 11) PE book had a picture (5 pics down and 8 pics across) of the male anatomy

6)I got picked up (one night stand) at a train station

Hi all. I work at Fernwood as a Gym Floor Instructor and Personal Trainer. I am qualified in Body Pump & Body Step. This is my story - I DID IT

My journery started back in about 93 when I went to Les Mills in Wellington (when it was in Cuba Mall - for all you kiwis). I loved the step classes. I rememebr when pump started. It was in the small circuit space in the weights room and then got too big and had to be moved to the group fitness room. I rememebr when BA was called jassajetics. When I stoped going to LM I was searching for the same type of classes. At that time I had no comprehension that there was Les Mills choreo and then there was freestyle. It wasn't until about 99 or so that the programs were being distributed - mainly pump. It was by going to LM in WGTN that started my dream of becoming an instructor. Unfortunately life got in my way and things changed - packed on the weight and got distracted. Then I moved to Aus. It wasn't until I moved into a share house and my flatmate was going to Zest that I stumbled across the programs again. After about a year and 16 kgs later the passion returned. That is what Les Mills programs do for me. With the help of my PT at the time I started my Cert 3 and 4. I realised that there was more to PT than I thought.
I have worked for Fernwood now for almost 3 years. At the start I when through my Body Step Training but was not ready. It took me two years to work up the courage to try again. It is thanks to my wonderful boss who has mentored me and coached me over the last year to help me be where I am today.
In Sept in did my BP training and passed. I am now teaching 2 classes a week and loving it.
In Oct I did my BS training. It wasn't so bad this time. This time I was ready. I got a withheld but I am happy with that - for the moment. I am working for my pass. 7/12 - I have my Pass!!!
I DID IT. I have reached my dream. I am living my dream. There is no turning back now. If you are into metaphors, I have got to my first peak of the mountain, in order for me to go up I need to go around until I find another way up. I want to be trained in BJ, BA and BC. My ultimate goal is to go back to WGTN, NZ and teach there.

Well that is my story. I will keep updating as life goes on.

I did my first launch class last night - pump and step. Wow.

Finally getting my a into g with my weight loss. Have lost 5kg and 18cm. (could be more if i was more diligent). Made the mistake of getting one of those implants in my arm - not good. But, going in the right direction now.

Time for an update. Well my weight loss is going good 8kg and 35cm so far. I did my first double a couple of weeks ago. Did BP first and then BS, my god, I died at the end of it, but was happy that I was able to deliver a great step class after doing pump. Im getting ready to send in my certification for BP, I taped myself for the first time the other day. Yuck!!! But hey, I can only get better right?
