Gosh it's been a while since I came on here...been using Facebook more but it's great to see the Forum is still going strong. I'll check in more often from now on :-))

I'm so excited. I'm recruiting a whole new team of instructors for a brand new club opening in two weeks. Auditions were amazing. Some really keen and fresh instructors eager to make their mark. Great mentor opportunities and some fantastic mentors aswell. To all the GFMs out there, always look out for a development opportunity. Some instructors may not have what it takes yet but you can tell if they have the potential and the drive. Take them under your wing and guide them - don't leave them to squander on their own without nurturing and guidance. It may take a bit of effort but the rewards are plentiful.

Group Fitness is a passion that has changed my life. I joined the fitness industry 9 years ago at age 35 after the birth of my second child. After being diagnosed with severe oesteo-arthritis after my second pregnancy and being told I had the back of a 50+ year old I was depressed, overweight and hated myself.

I joined a local gym to help manage my condition. The change in me over the following 6 months was quite incredible. My fascination with what was happening to me led me to do Certificate III with the intention of becoming a Personal Trainer which I did for some time. But once I started attending classes such as Body Pump and then Body Combat, I never looked back. If my doctor could see me now. I am now Group Fitness Manager for a world class Fitness Center, I teach Body Pump, Body Combat, Body Jam, Body Vive and trained in Body Step. My own experiences help me to connect with my members on a very personal level and I hope to inspire them with my little stories.

An interesting side to me is my history in the performing arts. I was an Opera Singer with the Victoria State Opera for 10 years before retiring to the Fitness Industry. Needless to say, I sing along from time to time!!

Hey Patti!

I just wanted to say that I've heard some fantastic things about you from Vicky and Ann-Marie, and I think your profile is quite inspirational. I have just completed Jam training along with Vicky, and am really looking forward to getting out there and doing some instructing. I never even thought one year ago that I would be a Les Mills instructor, but they say that life takes you on some strange journeys sometimes. You just gotta buckle up and go along for the ride!
