Just another freak...

A typical week finds me shuttling between clubs where I work out and teach and my workplace with nary a rest day...yet I'm loving it!

My class mix - focus on variety and contrast, keeping the flow, with an overall objective/theme and always one "old school" track to remind us of how far we've come...

Besides Les Mills programs, my other favorite indulgences in the gym are resistance training and running

I enjoy sharing my passion with others and creating life-changing fitness experiences in the Les Mills tradition

Been in the Wellness and Work-Life profession since 1997

Trained in

Body Combat with Joe Wade at CFC (Release 06, 2001)
Body Pump with Alani Mala at CFC (Release 40, 2001)
Body Balance with Marena Digby at CFC (Release 21, 2003)
Body Attack with Michelle Bridges at PF (Release 44, 2004)

ACSM certified Health Fitness Specialist (1998)

Grew up in NW Washington DC, USA

Residing in Singapore

In case you are wondering where I got my nick ;p

Kata = martial arts form or technique practised and honed over and over till until the movements become habitual or second nature and require no thinking.

While I was in BC training, a dear friend and mentor commented that I was not good at anything except for my katas…and the rest is history.

This is the way I learn my choreography, watch the videos, listen to the music, script my cues and practise my moves – revisit, revise, redo, review, repeat. Boring? No! Often I find a new perspective and fresh inspiration to do things a little differently. At the very least, it gives me the assurance that I have put in my best effort to coach and create fitness magic, each and every time :)

Huh?? Really? But we haven't even been told who's invited back for PMT 2 yet! Well, I'm sure that person was being very lovely, but until I see an email telling me I can attend the second session, then I'm still biting my fingernails....! Still got a long way to go.... Take care gal, hope to see you soon... :)

Hi Hui Ling,

Thanks for coming and your encouragement! It took me some time to figure out the timing and cues for the tracks I taught today and I'm glad you enjoyed them :)

See you soon!

Hey gal, thanks! Had my first Pump PMT yesterday, right after two workshops at MW (kickboxing and Muay Thai). Then today did the caipoiera, taekwondo and karate workshops - thought I might see you there... Maybe you were busy with classes. Anyway, if I don't see you before I'm sure I'll catch up with you at the PQT session in a couple of weekends. Take care, see you soon. Kia kaha! :)

I did it! I survived! And not only that, but I passed, yay! Am so happy. And yes, it was really tough, but so rewarding! The challenge was nuts... Away for a while then... Have fun, wherever you are! Jx

Thanks for the message!

I agree completely with your observations on 41. I will say like most releases it does grow on you a bit - I definitely don't dislike Ballroom Blitz as much as I did - but then again I've not seen the chorey for the BC6 version unlike yourself!

Keep up the great work! :) x
