And I've (stupidly in retrospect) volunteered to work at the Classic Adelaide. Hopefully there will be some shade, but it's still going to be a scorcher.

hmmm first, the long runs are done slowly... like a minute or more slower than race pace, trains your body to store more energy.

But I think what you need also is some speed work, or repeat intervals, so you know what a 5min km feels like. It conditions you to the level of discomfort you'll have to endure if you want to chop that 10min off your time.

Ask around if there's a running club or something that does interval training one night a week or something; that was what I did. In any event it should be supervised by a coach; not something you should do on your own.

Good luck!

That's what running is all about! Years ago my basic weekly program was 3-10k and 1-15k run a week in my neighborhood. The 10k runs were my quiet time: listen to my heart, breath, feet; smell who was using what fragrance softener in their dryer; no deep thinking like some peeps say they do. Races were just a matter of hitting your splits and watching the women until a kick into the finish gates. Rex

Hey Maddy - well vive from what i participated in was very quick - faster paced and alot more moving in different directions such as on diagonals - track 5 represent BodyCombat, think speed balls, skipping, and knee's (like the combat knees to the side) rather than a repeater...... great if your class is able sucks if your class is aged 65+ (in which case there will be alot of modifying in)
i cant comment to much on the 2nd half, from watching it = it looked pretty good and the bicep track again looked tough.... interesting back track - resembled balance in a few ways. I had to sit the 2nd part out - it was 11am and inside the stadium probably around 30 degrees, was soo difficult to breath and exercise without feeling ill......
When are ur workshops?
can let you no what the dvd is like when i watch it this week :)

Hi, thanks for the add - and the invitation! This forum needs a good party now and then, gets way too serious sometimes...

We just got our first snow, pumpkins have done their work and are on their way to the compost.
Does your husband miss Finnish winter?

Hi Maddy!

I'd have to say BV 10 is my favorite too :) We've evolved so much since BV 3, have always loved it inside and out though. We're a huge part of the VIVEOLUTION :)

Cheers from North Carolina!

Hi Maddy!!!
Thanks for the message!! I really enjoy our "talks" in the BV forum too!! Since I'm all alone at my gym I really rely on you and the others to help me figure things out!!! I am enjoying BV12 right now and am thinking of mixing in soon, but it takes so much time and effort that sometimes its just easier to press play and go!!!:) Good luck to you at your gym. Thank God we have this sight to get feed back when we are stuck on our own!!! Keep Viving and I'll see you in the BV forum soon!!!
