Thanks for your message.
You do as many classes as your body tells you. I would just take the weight down for 3 of those 6 that you do a week.
Squats and lunges will strengthen your knees!!! (As long as the weight isn't too high, or you'll start to integrate the larger muscles, and then the little ones can't stabilise as well...)
As for the ab workout... obliques won't make your waist small... removing fat will. That's healthy eating and cardio.
Oblique exercises strenghten and give form to that area. So exercise every stomach muscle.
Look these up online, and you'll find good exercises:
transverse abdominus (hovers, planks etc)
erector spinae (pilates back strengtheners)
internal and external obliques ("up and twist")
rectus abdominus (crunches, sit ups, bicycle legs)
All these are offered in Les Mills choreography, but if you want more, go online and google those muscle groups for help.
