Qualified To Teach

Profile

Born and raised in the Bronx, I spent alot of time in the weight room attempting to stay healthy (and alive). I relocated to North Carolina in 1992. I work for the Department of Corrections. (16 years deep on a 30 year sentence on the chain gang).
About 3 years ago, I discovered BodyStep and loved it from day one (was absolutely TERRIBLE at it. I got a little bit better.). It was not long after I took a stab at BodyPump. With my experience in the weight room I knew immediately the benefits would be outstanding. As my fitness and cardio grew I thought "I could teach this".
Step was first (The most challenging experience of my life to date. I have Darren to thank for that.). But I knew Pump was more my element. To date I am currently instructing 2 classes of BodyPump per week and consistantly sub Step. My next challange will be Attack and RPM.

Hey Stranger! So good to hear from you. Yes, I have been incredibly busy. I have been training some fellow co-workers to become outstanding RPM instructors, and working with one BP trainee, and one Combat trainee as well. So love coaching people into the next level... its very rewarding to see people who you have trained develop their own style and gain rapport with the members. So looking forward to Christmas and New Years, I have big things planned for this next year. Thinking about getting my ACE PT certificate. I think for now, the June Q in Charlotte is just rumor... none of the locals have heard word about a location. What I can tell you is that if it is here again it will not be in a small venue this time. Lots of complaints were made about how small Energy was. I'm hoping the next Q is in Florida again. I had a blast, and I'm looking forward to another road trip. Talk to you soon. BTW you can find me on facebook if you would like. I'm listed as Heather Stauffer in Concord NC. Smooches!!!!

OMG! I am a serious ding-a-ling.....I just posted my message to you on my own page! Let's try this again.....

Absolutely I will keep you up to date! You HAVE to do it! It is awesome, and I can fill you in on how the training goes. It was weird to only have a 2 day training when both Pump & Flow were 3....felt very fast.

Find me on Facebook: Rebecca Riney, same pic. It'll be easier & faster to chat!!

Stay well & find a sponsor!

The music is phenomenal, isn't it? I think that is why I really tap into RPM, soooo my vibe, just like Pump.
Heard at the last Q, but have not confirmed, that they weren't going to do another Q this year, just Intensives around the area. Did not get a chance to talk to my contact to see if that's true. I will let you know the minute I hear anything. NC should be due - LMSE has hit Atlanta,FL, and SC, so we should be next right ;)?
Talk to you soon -

What's up Richard,
Was really good to hear from you. I have been totally slammed lately. Combat is going really well. I just need to get my video in. I was in Bermuda last week, so now I am taking the time to get myself back on track for my assessment. No Worries, it'll get done soon.

We don't launch until the last week of October, and that's a wonderful thing 'cause I just got my kits a week ago, and I haven't had time to do anything other than listen to the music. So I have 3 weeks to learn 3 formats intimately. Sweet deal, huh!

Any idea where the next Q will be located?
Chat again soon...
Smooches!

Richard!!!
I have been thinking about you a ton lately, glad to hear you are doing well. I went to the Columbia & Nashville(LMSC) Q - yes, I am crazy - had a great time at both, but was sooo pleased with SE's Q in Columbia. Sorry you could not make it! I saw Michelle at the Q(tall, brown hair, hung out with the blonde named Julianna(?),certified in Combat. Great to catch up with her.

I am trying to hit RPM training in Clemmons in 2 weeks. We launch this Sat, but still don't know which tracks I've got for Pump. Doing 6 & 7 for Flow which I am so stoked about, great tracks. Sounds like you are crazy busy.....me too but not with teaching which is good for the time being. My life is day job, daughter, Les Mills, M-TH. Weekends are a little bit of a break, but usually running around getting all the things done that I can't do during the week!! I LOVE BP 71, don't you? It's simply genius how they keep getting better.

Will touch base again soon - you must come to the next Q. Stay well, and try to keep all that Choreo straight in your head!

Any time you want a guest pass just let me know. I'm at the Lifestyle Family Fitness that you attended BP training at. My schedule is mostly mornings, but here it is...
Mon BP 9:30 AM, Weds. BP,RPM, SS 9:30-12:30, Sat RPM 10 AM, Sun RPMplus 10 AM. Not sure yet when I will be on the schedule for BC. Right now I am team teaching tuesday night at 7:30. I'll let you know what day and time when I have my own on the schedule. I have to run, but I'll "hit you up" as you say, again soon. Lots to do this weekend to get my kiddo ready for Kindergarten. What am I going to do without my sidekick to keep me straight all day?

Went to Combat training this past weekend. Oh my god it kicked my butt. So much more painful than BP was. Although I have to tell you it was a lot more fun. I know pain and fun... I must be sick! Anyway I just thought I would let you know what is going on here.
What are you up to? I am completely bummed that I will not be able to attend the next Q. Have promised my daughter that I would take her somewhere that weekend. If you attend you will have to tell me what you thought of the programs!

Richard!
Orlando Q was a ton of fun!! Kaye & I flew down & back in 36 hours...crazy, exhausting!

I am jonesing hard for RPM & Combat. We have them at my gym, but only a class each. Easy to wait on Combat b/c I'm working on my technique so I'm probably looking at 2010. Working on getting RPM fit, sort of eyeing August for RPM, maybe? Still thinking about it....Kaye wants to do Attack, but we don't have it at our gym.

Are you going to the Q in Columbia? Should be fun......Kaye & I are going.
Be good...talk to you soon!

Got your message this morning. I hope everything has settled down for you, and that everything is okay. I am staying busy this summer going to our pool with Kat after all the time at the gym. By the end of the day I'm usually spent.

I was thinking about what you said about RPM. If you have not signed a contract with the Y you can get someone else to sponcor you. Not only that you could possibly get another Y that does have RPM to sponsor you. That way they couldn't say there was a conflict of interest. You don't have to be committed to teaching RPM to go thru training.

I am about to ask my boss if he would be willing to schedule BC training at our facility for me. I really don't want to go out of town if I don't have to. Plus we don't have as many BC trainings in this area.

Meeting Susan was great, wish you could have made it!
