JUST MY THOUGHTS:
Starting today, I will care less about what others think.
I often find myself trying to work out how other people will feel about a decision rather than considering my own point of view.
Of course we all need to consider other people to be decent and sensitive. But if we care too much what other people think, we live by our imaginations of others' thoughts! I do not really want to live like that.
To be a truly independent and self-confident person we need to start being more self-directed. What do you think? What do you want? What is your opinion?
When we start to care less about what others think, we start living our lives and not just a dim reflection of what someone else thinks our life should be.
Other people often have it wrong! Public opinion is notoriously unreliable. Trust yourself more!
When we care too much what others think we are open to manipulation because we tend to go with the herd. When we care less what other people think we become more honest, and therefore decent, persons because we don't have to pretend so much.
