Aspiring LES MILLS™ instructors attend a 2-3 day module receiving in-depth training in the five key elements of Les Mills' initial training: choreography, technique, coaching,
connection and creating magic.
Resources provided in this module include a program technique DVD and Instructor manual as well as the latest program kit comprising of a master class DVD, music CD and choreography notes.
Trainees become certified when a video submitted by them has been assessed and passed by Les Mills’ certification staff.
Once certified, instructors receive ongoing training and education updates through regional quarterly workshops, DVD's and choreography notes.
To become a Les Mills™ Instructor you need to:
-
Contact your GFM at your club and inform them of your desire to teach.
-
If your GFM agrees, they may 'sponsor' you and find the next available training for you in that program. Initial training dates are published in our Training Calendar. Instructors must be sponsored by a club to attend training.
-
Your GFM can register you online to go to the training or by contacting Les Mills.
-
Sign your instructor agreement online (before attending the training). Print your confirmation email and bring it with you to the training – and then you will not be required to complete an onsite hardcopy.
-
The training is 2 or 3 days depending on the program.
-
You are required to submit a video/DVD for assessment within 3 months of training, in order to become a certified LES MILLS™ instructor. Post training, you are able to teach at your licensed club (grade permitting) and can sign up on Autoship to receive the new releases each quarter.
