Kia Ora to all!

Just wanted to post a quick update on the incredible LIVESTRONG Challenge yesterday. Ninety miles in the rolling hills of rural Texas...the very same hills where Lance Armstrong began his quest for one of the greatest achievements in the history of sporting competition. Some were experienced road warriors--others "novice" road riders. We had team mates riding $$$ road bikes, low-budget "classics" and everything inbetween.

Temperature was cool in the morning...in 80's by 1 p.m. and WINDY most of the day. Really, really windy. The truly challenging terrain (deceptively so) and rough pavement set the scene...

RPM and Les Mills REPRESENTED on Sunday the 25th of October in Austin, Texas. We met as individuals--some came as friends, others as strangers but we all bonded as a TEAM in support of a great foundation with a critically important mission. What is their mission?

"The Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) inspires and empowers people affected by cancer. We help people with cancer focus on living; we believe that unity is strength, knowledge is power and attitude is everything."

If it sounds like a mission statement that fits hand in glove with RPM and the Les Mills mission--you're right!

We rode with a mission in mind...with a purpose and focus. We brought our "A" game and were definitely the MOST colorful team on the circuit. Our team spirit, great attitude and energy was the talk of the town. The team jersey is something to behold...and yes, I'll say it...you MISSED OUT if you didn't get in on the action. This was an event in which friends were made, friendships renewed and bonds were made that will last a lifetime. It really was that powerful.

RPM'ers...We came very close to achieving our fund-raising goals--and they were set high. Rumor has it...We will have more LIVESTRONG challenge opportunities in 2010 and I want to encourage all of you as individuals and as a community to support the effort. As cycling enthusiats and passionate people...we should be off the charts! This is an opportunity to put RPM and Les Mills programs on the map as never before.

Let me say it again...in perhaps another way. Take a chance...and get involved! Enlist in the LIVESTRONG army. It's a fight worth fighting!

This movement--the LIVESTRONG Challenge--is growing nationally and will soon be a part of the GLOBAL cancer initiative. The LIVESTRONG army is leading the charge--this is cutting edge stuff!

RPM'ers! Think about the impact that we could make--doing fund raising rides WORLD-WIDE in support of the LIVESTRONG Challenge. Let me see, RPM is in about 3000 clubs--probably averaging 15 classes/week...well, you do the math.

Expect to see and hear more about these opportunities (hint!)...

Ride and LIVESTRONG.

Hellooooo! I just found your message. I am not sure how I missed it, but it is had been that kind of week (I have been having 3 year-old troubles- sick kids, etc).
I must say, as soon as I was invited to SD, I thought of you guys and how fun it will be to reunite!
I have not been working on my bowling moves at all, I am very ashamed to say (however, I have been working hard on my Jam and Vive moves all week, so I expect to see you on the dance floor getting down with me and squeezing a purple ball in Vive with all your might!).
As for bowling, well I hope my beginners luck hasn't worn off....

That was so much fun and thanks to you I didn't completely humiliate myself (I seriously was worrying about the bowling ever since Rebecca first mentioned we might go in an email)!! It is not an accident that I dance instead of being involved with anything that requires hand-eye coordination!
I had such a great time meeting you and the rest of Morgan's pals. Thanks for a wonderful evening! Hope to see you'all soon.

Super Q this year?

Hello - Hello - Hello to you....
Thank you for EVERYTHING! Words can't describe how I feel about the weekend!

It was such a pleasure having you on board. I have to say, the team would not have been the same without you. I think about it all - the "no room" scare, the bike building party, the team meeting, the appreciation dinner, coffee and shopping at Mellow Johnny's, the start line, the first 10 miles, and most importantly, I recall the conversation you and I had in the lobby after the ride/accident.....
Thank you Jim for your support, your kind words and your encouragement! I can not express enough gratitude ....
