My Favourite Programs

Profile

I'm a leading edge baby boomer, retired, and a participant in BodyPump and BodyJam. I'm also passionate about Spin, our brutal rope circuit sprint program, and YOGA!.

I've been working out three to five days a week for over thirty years including :

Weight machines since the very earliest Nautilus models

Aerobics from the time it was mostly women doing cheerleader-like pom-pom routines until step came along.

Step using three risers until I just lost interest and Spin came along.

Cardio KickBoxing with gloves and pillar-bags and lots of rope skipping.

I've got drawers full of 10k race shirts and a couple marathon shirts also. Got burned out on running after about six years.

EFX machines are a great warm up for my achilles' tendons and calves before class, and a little Yoga in the dry sauna after class gets me ready for the next day.

I tutor English to newly arrived Spanish speakers for a couple hours three days a week at a local outreach ministry.

And finally, as everyone knows by now, I'm addicted to on-line message forums and also multi-language chat channels.

¡Nos vemos, chicos!

RexMan-

Yeah, my Max is all about bein' Ruff N Tuff, but he's all puddie-tat on the inside!

SOOOOO funny that you mentioned the arms from the warm up of 45, and your "technition (sp?)" instructor breaking it down for you. That was me on Tuesday night. We broke it down, marked it, worked on the turn, talked about the arms..... It as AMAZING!!!!! It's so flippin' cool when particpants are SOOOOO into the program that they have a desire to get it all right!!!!!!!

Anywho, leaving for FL in 10 hours. Gonna go meet Gandolph (Jam Program Director) and his fiance, Ginny. I'm trying to keep my "hero-worship" pretty low key, but at my best I jump up and down and cry a little and the chance. ;) I can't WAIT!!!!!!!

It's so good to hear from you! It's been a while, hasn't it?!?!?!?! I read your posts, but don't do too much on the forums since I can't get on half of the time.

Talk soon,
cbc

This is my other buddy, Ted. He is a "Momma-Protector." Come near me and he'll hiss! :)

Hey Rex Man!

How's it going? Thought I'd check in with you- School's going to start soon and I'm loking forward to having a more "rigid" schedule. I'm been teaching loads at our club, but it was so random, it was difficult to keep track of.

What's up with you????

Hi Rex!

Thanks for your message:)
You have some great pictures too!
Hey you've been around exercising for a long time... It's interesting to see how things evolve, now there are many more people joining group classes, specially men. Les Mills classes are awesome!
Have you ever tried water classes?

Cheers,
Diana

Yep - mine is peeking out of the top of my Combat Pants! :)

I wear a suit at my "real" job, so I had to go underground with the artwork.

I'll put a pic up once it's healed - it took 3 hours, so it's a little touchy right now...

GR is Grand Rapids, Michigan! If only it were somewhere a bit more exotic than the bible belt. Ah, do I dare to dream?
Anyway, thanks for being my friend. I'll chat more later. I've got to get the kids in bed.
