Well it has been 5 weeks since my accident and my bones are healing - ok, I can see that I have gotten ahead of myself.

My husband and I were on the Big Island in Hawaii to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. On the second day of our vacation we took a trail ride up into the mountains of the island. Unfortunately my horse was an alpha male, had to be first, first through the paddocks, first behind the trail boss, see where I am going with this? On the way back to the corral, my husband's horse decided it was his turn to take lead and of course my horse didn't agree. So, in order to get ahead, my horse had to get rid of me, since I was holding him back with the reins. After a few bronco bucks, I flew through the air and landed on my right shoulder and side.

As I lay there in the hawaiian mountains gazing at the blue sky I realized my collarbone was broken and something else was wrong, since I couldn't breathe. After what seemed liked eternity, the ambulance sirens could be heard coming closer and closer, then they started to fade away....Nooooooo. Don't go! I was told the ambulance couldn't make it up the mountain. Lets see, did I start to panic then, almost until I heard the trail boss on his radio calling for a helicopter. The medi-vac helicopter did arrive and those guys were great. Of course, first they had to figure how to get a tall injured woman into the helicopter, not a normal task on the island. I was beginning to wonder if they thought I couldn't hear a word they were saying - I took it all in, lets see - if we put her feet in first she might fit.....

At the hospital I found out my collarbone was hmm.... how to say..... crushed! Then in addition I had 7 broken ribs and 2 other ribs cracked. Gee, go figure that the islands are made out of volcanic rock and what are the odds that is what I landed on.

I can't wait to get back into the gym routine but with a rod holding my collarbone together it is going to be some time before I will be lifting a weighted bar anytime soon.

The new BP release is great - I have been watching it (I watch tv a lot right now) and the launches are going to be great. Go Team! I am cheering for a genuine transformation!

Happy B-Day Sue - You can practice #66 with a broomstick and helium balloons. That's what I used for #52.
