10th Aug Sun - severe diffuse abdominal pain, went to A&E NUH, given IV pain relief - told was gastritis - sent home
12th Aug Tues - 1 AM recurrence of severe abdominal pain but localised to the right mid to cranial abdomen, so painful was begging for pain relief at A&E, given IM, 1.5hr later, Dr examined me, bloods taken - normal, sent home again
12th Aug Tues - 5 PM Rolling around in pain, sweating, panting, in tears, was warded at Mt alvernia, attended to by GI specialist, Pain relief given in the buttocks, IV catheter placed, CT scan done
Findings - enlarged mesenteric LN, polycystic kidneys (genetic disorder - will explain another time)
Admitted for observation - was normal and released on the 14th Aug
15t Aug Fri - Recurrence of severe adominal pain, similar to the 14th - re admitted to hospital again for further observation, Dr thinks I have Irritable bowel syndrome and stress issues...
Every night and late afternoon, I would be in pain, appetite extremely poor, pain always in the same spot
Faecal analysis - normal
Discharged on the 18th Aug Mon with so many medication
18th Aug - recurrence of severe abdominal pain again, after pain relief - managable
19th Aug - PAIN! PAIN! PAIN! cannot tah han already, call Dr and went for 2nd opinion,
other Dr Suspect bleeding into cysts in the kidneys causing pain so Ultrasound of the kidneys were done - after US exam, was in excruciating pain...
Called GI specialist - she says to come in tomorrow morning to see Gynaecologist...
20th Aug - AM appointment, bloods taken twice (no more veins avaliable already, all bruised and useless), 1 set for simple blood profile and other hormone levels, Gynae exam - downstairs department relatvely normal should not be cause of pain, lucky no invasive tests...
US report for kidneys - no significant bleeding - phew
Back to GI specialist - She really suspects extrememly severe case of IBS, more medications, only light duty next week and best of all gym resumes on Monday
Night - PAIN again!!! in the abdomen, followed by explosive bouts of diarrhoea...gezzz, when will it all end...
21st Aug - churning in gut, weak, inappetance, force myself to go fo a walk, just to keep muslces working
Thoughts - I am very tired, many sleepless and painful nights, my family are very distressed watching me in this state, they too are exhuasted.
I am very grateful to have such loving parents who have supported me all this while and for the God given friends who care, thank you all for the support, will keep u guys updated.
GI's explanation - 2 weeks before the entire episode, was extremely stressed out, more than usual, had a short break soon after that, and the body is now given a chance to react, so a simple GI tract infection and mesenteric lymphadenitis comes with a vengence, IBS also then manifests with a vengence causing sharp pains, indigestion, and other GI signs e.g. vomiting, diarrhoea, flatulence, pain comes about due to the uncontrolled spasms of the gut
