Les Mills’ participation in the Dance4Life campaign in 2007/8 resulted in a €12,000 (US$18,800) donation to the Netherlands-based campaign to inspire, mobilize and unite young people to push back HIV and AIDS.

Clubs all over the world got behind Dance4Life with BODYJAM™ 43 – from USA to Argentina and Canada to the Netherlands. Gold’s Gym in Idaho, USA raised the most money for the second year in a row, this year donating €$2580 (US$4050) – €640 (US$1000) more than last year!

The money was raised with a silent auction which was held in conjunction with the launch of BODYJAM™ 43. Cinch sacks were also made with the Dance4Life and Gold’s Gyms logos printed on them. The sacks were filled with coupons and goodies and sold for a donation. BODYJAM™ instructor Julie Bush has organized both Dance4Life fundraising events and said it was a positive team experience: "It does wonders for a team to work so hard together with a focus we are all passionate about! The fundraising was awesome and the reaction to all the latest LES MILLS™ releases was MORE than enthusiastic!"

The money raised in the US and the Netherlands has gone to the schools projects in their countries, and the money raised in non-Dance4Life countries is being spent on the schools projects around the world (for instance in Zimbabwe). The schools projects, Schools4Life, are at the heart of Dance4Life. Schools4Life gives young people the opportunity to make a difference in their own lives and world. It teaches them the important life skills they need to protect themselves and inspires them to go out there and do something about it.

This year we’re hoping to raise even more money for this worthwhile cause and to do this we need your feedback and involvement. Email melanie@lesmills.com and let her know what you think we should do to best you and your club in getting behind Dance4Life 2008/9.
