Becoming a LES MILLS™ instructor is a life-changing experience and one that carries with it both privileges and responsibilities.
Les Mills' instructors can enhance the lives of their participants by giving them a key to superior health and fitness.
To do so, however, they must make the physical and mental commitment necessary to achieving excellence in the role.
Aspiring LES MILLS™ instructors require the minimum national fitness qualification applying in their countries and usually have some fitness training experience.
Instructors are often recruited from people such as weight trainers, personal trainers or other fitness professionals – keen participants can also apply if they have the necessary skills.
To become a LES MILLS™ instructor, applicants need the support of a LES MILLS™ licensed facility where you would be employed.
The club will arrange for initial training in the program concerned and in the five key areas of Choreography, Technique, Coaching, Connecting and creating Fitness Magic.
The training is two or three days, depending on the program.
Once an instructor has completed the module training and been cleared to teach classes, they can begin to instruct as trainees.
Trainees become qualified by submitting a video/DVD of a complete class within 12 weeks of the initial training.
This is then assessed and passed by Les Mills’ assessors.
