October update:

I had a blast doing our Retro 80s theme launches last week with Jackie, Josh, and Stephanie. Great workouts and great fun! I also had a good time, worked hard, and learned a ton from Rob Glick, Kimberly Spreen, Robert Sherman, and Fabio Comana at the Empower fitness conference in Austin (http://www.globalfitnesssolutions.com/Empower.htm).

August update:

I'm loving teaching BA 65 and BP 70. Such great releases! I saw this video at the gym and just suggested it for BA. I think would be a great warmup track -> "Happy Day" by Yumm Yumm (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rz_TG5Ek5g). Nothing like a little bubbly synth pop to brighten your day. :-)

Enjoy!

If you or your participants have been having foot or ankle issues, I highly recommend that you try TP (Trigger Point) Therapy. Check out www.tptherapy.com. That has helped me a great deal, especially in concert with ART (Active Release Technique) done by Dr. Zelinski here in Austin (www.atxrehab.com). He's a big reason that I can teach BODYATTACK at age 44 and keep jumping. :-) You can find ART providers throughout the US at their main website (http://www.activerelease.com/what_providers.asp).

FORMERLY little-known facts for my TAGGING:

1. I am a computational physicist, which most of my class participants are generally surprised to learn. I got my PhD in physics 15 years ago from the University of Texas at Austin. I specialized in nonlinear dynamics, specifically pattern formation in nonlinear systems.

2. I love to combine science and entrepreneurship. I have spent the last three years working nights and weekends on my start-up company (www.paragonscience.com).

3. I was born and raised in Los Alamos, New Mexico (hence, the whole physics thing), and worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory for six summers during my undergrad and graduate years. Naturally, I got a lot of "Do you glow in the dark?" comments when I went to college.

4. I had a Q security clearance from the Department of Energy at the Secret level right out of high school, due to my work at LANL (see #3).

5. I speak French and spent the fall of 1986 studying in Aix-en-Provence, France, which was a fabulous experience. I feel somewhat rusty now, but I fell right back into it when SteveO and I went to France and Italy in 2004.

6. I don't play a lot these days, but I spent 20+ years playing piano, leading music groups, and writing orchestral arrangements for church, starting in 9th grade. (That's actually how I met my hubby, SteveO; he was directing one choir and I another at the University Catholic Center in Austin.)

===============================================================================
I've been teaching group fitness classes since late 1995 and really love staying active and helping others get or stay fit. I've taught BODYPUMP since 2002, and I did my BODYATTACK training with Kendall Kimball (Yay, Kendall!) in December 2005.

I'm a computational physicist and entrepreneur, currently doing consulting to fund my start-up company -> www.paragonscience.com.

Lovin' the 80's theme! We're doing a breast cancer launch with a pledge drive for the American Cancer Society.

Hope things are going well. I might be heading to Cedar Park for Combat training in Dec. Haven't made up my mind yet or not. We'll see.

Have a little one due on Jan so that might put it on hold.

Hope to see you soon!

Hi Dr. Steve!

It's always nice to hear from you my friend. How are you? Hope you are coping well with the busy life and still find some time for yourself. Take care.

It's awesome to hear that you enjoyed the BP intensive. We had the honor to have Justin and Nicole visiting Auckland several times, they are really lovely. Please send my regards when you see them next time.

Haha BA with Lisa is always fun, can you believe you kept teaching BA and BS until 2 weeks before giving birth... such a powerhouse!

Keep in touch.

PJ :)
