Holl-ER!!!!!!!

I was told I needed to get crackin on this profile, so here goes. If you are already bored, the story ends with two Les Mills Trainings in three weekends.

As a member of the "Former Fat Kids Association of America," I spent most of my youth as an inactive bookworm. One summer three years ago I started running and never looked back.

Then, about a year ago, I got a design/marketing job a gym in Champaign (Refinery - recently voted the Best Gym in East Central Illinois!). I immediately knew it was the environment that was meant for me. I took my first Body Pump class and was hooked! I soaked up any opportunity I had to take class, a nice benefit of working at a gym.

We had a survivor challenge for our fall launch one month for all of the Les Mills formats we had at the time (Pump, Jam, Step, Combat and Flow) and I was the first at my gym to complete all of them. I did it in two days!

It was a wake up call to me. I realized that what a great group of instructors we had at our gym and I knew I wanted to be a part of that. It took almost a year to convince myself that I was up for the challenge.I worked up the courage and signed up for my first training - Combat.

I loved every minute of training, from the challenges I put my body through, to the friends that I made. I was able to go to that training with other instructors from my club and was able to bond with them on the 3 hour drives in each direction. Our Trainer, Lisa Gregory, was so inspiring both in her skill and coaching, I was inspired to continue my Les Mills Journey.

My next week back I was soaking up all of the knowledge I gained from the weekend and craved more. I started looking for trainings in the area and saw that there was one for Pump coming up in less than 2 weeks. I asked my body if it was up for the challenge and it resounded with a HELL YES!

This training experience was very different from the first. I was at this one all on my own. My instructors were Maria and Becky who were among the best duo I've ever seen. They moved so well and made me lift more weight than I ever have. They were tough, but prepared me so well and welcomed me to the BodyPump family with open arms. I made so many friends that weekend, and connected more to the Les Mills Family. Big Shout outs to my People People, Barry (who I wouldn't have been able to complete the challenge without) and Kari, the best Les Mills Rep/Double Body Pumper Ever.

I learned from my trainings that I can be an ATHLETE, and I will never forget that. So that is where I stand now. Two trainings down, learning new choreography and skills everyday...and couldn't he happier.

Thanks and don't forget the speed pump class we are teaching. When do you teach combat? I need to keep it up prior to my training the end of this month.

Ok, I'm sending you extra positive vibes for tomorrow when you teach your first class. I know you'll be AWESOME!

Body Combat launched at the Carbondale Gold's on Saturday and it was terrific. Made me want to work harder to learn the choreography so I can teach it one day. And, everytime I did the claw in Track 4 I thought of you :)

Good luck tomorrow!

Jason!!!

How are you? Teaching Combat yet? Oaxaca was awesome! Thanks for asking. I can't wait to go back over the Christmas holidays. Learning Spanish is tough though, just like learning to teach Combat it was a struggle, pero me gusta :)

Here's a picture of Monte Alban, an incredible archaeological site outside of Oaxaca City.
