Qualified To Teach

Profile

I have been certified through AFAA since 1996 when I began teaching step aerobics and hi/lo. I went on to include other class formats including Reebok Slide (these are pretty much non-existent now), Interval and Cirtuit styles, and Stability ball. I also taught some shallow water aerobics and briefly was able to teach a 'cardio-chair' class for elderly which I really enjoyed. I obtained certifications in personal training and weight training, (although I never really did any personal training) but I have lead group strength classes. Body Pump is my favorite of all classes and I have plans to be the best I can be in the program.

I am a very quiet person when I am not teaching and can surprise someone when I actually get up in front of people to teach.

This 'introvert' part of me is also an artist, and website designer. I also enjoy composing music (classical or soundtrack), but dont get me wrong - I enjoy hard core music too, I just cant compose it myself!

I am also a Mom.
I have two wonderful children, ages 6 and 3, a boy and a girl. My boy is largely energetic with a wonderful personality and is a bit ADHD. My daughter is amazing and loves to dance, sing and draw (on everything). Both of them think Body Pump is pretty cool.

Oh gosh yes! I loved every minute of it. I did the BC and BP intensives on Saturday. Body Combat is way too much fun not to have at your gym - you MUST do it!

Wendi -

Hang in there. Your passion will show through and you will come into your own. Then, everyone will be knocking down the door to come to your classes.

Good luck!

Hi! You're going to love the Quarterly! I did it there last year and had a great time! Lack of funds is keeping me home this year - maybe I will catch one in the Spring.

Keep an eye on the website. At some point you may see a more detailed schedule. If I remember correctly it wasn't available this early in 08 either. The only thing you really have to worry about getting a spot for is RPM. The rest of the classes were in this HUGE room and no one ever asked us who we were - we just went in and got a spot. Get there early to get a Pump spot, though. Combat was pretty packed, but I was a FRD in that class! :)

Enjoy!!!!

Wendi,
here is the phone # for Les Mills Midwest region. tel (877) LES MILLS | fax (847) 562 4080
I had problems too and they were able to help me. I think spoke with a woman named Joey, but I explained what was going on and they were able to help me out. I hope this will help you out, it might be as simple as just clicking on a tab at their headquarters.
