Australia
Bill Robertson was the first overseas agent for Les Mills and has been a driving force behind the international expansion of the Les Mills programs and brand. Bill is the owner of Canberra-based Les Mills Asia Pacific which distributes the Les Mills programs in Australia and throughout south-east Asia. Originally from New Zealand, Bill moved to Australia in 1973 to become a leading swimming coach and owner of a successful swimming pool business. He later expanded the business into fitness and introduced BODYPUMP™ to the club on a trial basis in 1995. The program’s popularity later led Bill to join with Phillip Mills and others in the formation of Les Mills International.
Brazil
Paulo Akiau is LES MILLS™ agent for Brazil and owner of Body Systems do Brasil, based in Sao Paulo. A former fitness instructor, Paulo competed successfully in international aerobics and was a co-director of the Fitness Brasil convention when he witnessed the launch of BODYPUMP™ in the USA in 1997. Together with senior fitness industry leaders, Paulo established Body Systems to distribute Les Mills in Brazil and later bought out his business partners to become the sole owner of the Brazilian agency.
China
Loni Wang is LES MILLS™ Agent for China and chief executive of New Life Resources, based in Shenzhen, southern China. Loni serves on several state-appointed sports and fitness bodies and has made an important contribution to increasing fitness participation in China.
France
Christophe Andanson is the LES MILLS™ agent for France. President of the international industry association, FISAF, and founder of the French Federation for Fitness and Aerobics, Christophe is a former Olympic athlete in wrestling and fitness presenter on television. He opened his first Espace Vitale fitness club with wife Claudy in Paris in 1983 and became LES MILLS™ agent in 1996, establishing Planet Fitness group in 1997 specifically to manage the LES MILLS™ agency for France and much of the French-speaking world. Planet Fitness is based in Aix-en-Provence.
Germany
Christian Schmiing is LES MILLS™ agent for Germany and Managing Director of fitness equipment and services firm Bonsport, based in Bonn. Founded in 1981 to produce weight lifting equipment and fitness machines, Bonsport GMBH is owned by Volker Ebener, one of the most influential figures in the German fitness industry. As LMI agent, Christian is responsible for Les Mills in Germany, Austria, Slovenia and German-speaking Switzerland.
Italy
Roberto Zabetta is director of Les Mills Italia, a new LES MILLS™ agency established in March 2006. Widely known in Italy through his introduction of Johnny G spinning classes to that market, Roberto is also a respected fitness industry educator and author and has interests in sports equipment and apparel distribution.
Japan
Kono Royji is head of the products development division for Les Mills’ Japanese agents, Konami Sports Corporation. Les Mills was originally established in Japan in 1972 and has been managed and expanded by the international computer games manufacturer, Konami, since 2001.
Middle East
New Zealander Greg Boucher runs Dubai-based fitness company Mefitpro with his wife Rania and distributes Les Mills programs thoughout the Middle East as a sub-agent of the UK.
Netherlands
Derk van’t Sant is LES MILLS™ agent for the Netherlands and joint owner of fitness equipment and services firm, HDD Groep, based in Waalwijk, the Netherlands. Derk entered the fitness industry in 1992 when he established the HDD Sports group with two fellow University of Amsterdam graduates. Originally distributing aerobics equipment, mountain bikes and golf gear, HDD gradually increased its product range to include cardio and strength equipment and expanded into group fitness when Derk established subsidiary firm ProFITS to manage the Netherlands Les Mills agency in 1998.
Portugal
Andre Manz and Margarida Manz own Manz Producoes, based in Lisbon, Portugal and distribute Les Mills programs in Portugal as sub-agents of the UK since 1998. Andre became interested in aerobics through his friendship with Brazilian Paulo Akiau. and in 1993 he staged Portugal's first fitness convention.A former phys ed teacher, Margarida joined in with her husband Andre in the running of Manz Productions as the business grew and became increasingly professional, focusing mainly on conventions, instructor courses and publishing.
Slovenia
Dare Kudeljnjak was formerly an insurance industry executive and later established an investment company with interests throughout Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Romania, including the LES MILLS™ distributorship. He is executive manager/president of the Les Mills Slovenia, a sub-agency of Germany based in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.
Spain
Cesar Navarro is LES MILLS™ agent for Spain and owner of fitness services firm, Actividades Españolas de Fitness y Aeróbic. A leading figure in the Spanish fitness fitness industry, Cesar Navarro has run the Spanish agency for Les Mills International since 1997 through his Barcelona-based Asociacion Espanola De Fitness Y Aerobic. Cesar has extensive interests in fitness conventions, fitness equipment and apparel distribution, as well as owning and operating the exclusive Bonasport club on the outskirts of Barcelona. Cesar’s wife and business partner, Carmen Fado is an accomplished fitness instructor and presenter and Operations Manager for the Les Mills agency.
Sweden
Jesper Magnusson is Managing Director of Les Mills Baltic, responsible for distribution of the Les Mills programs throughout Sweden, Finland, Estonia and Norway. A former international fitness presenter, Jesper was instrumental in bringing Les Mills to Sweden in 1997 while working for the Stockholm-based Scandianvian Academy for Fitness Education. He remained in charge of the Les Mills distributorship thereafter and was appointed Managing Director of Les Mills Baltic when the new agency was established in 2006.
Taiwan
Tan Hai Yong is the Singapore-based LES MILLS™ representative for Taiwan.
United Kingdom
Brent Hallo is the LES MILLS™ agent for the United Kingdom and executive director of Fitness Professionals (Fitpro), the fitness training and services firm he started with his wife Jane Waller in 1989. Fitpro’s interests range across instructor training into education, video production and publishing, music licensing, sales consultancy and fitness convention management. The London-based firm licenses independent clubs and most major chains to run Les Mills’ programs. FitPro also licenses clubs in Portugal and the Middle East through sub-agency arrangements.
United States
Les Mills Mid Atlantic
Les Mills Mid Atlantic is co-owned by Erin Kelly and Les Mills International. Erin is Chief Executive Officer for Les Mills Mid Atlantic which distributes LES MILLS™ programs in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia.
Les Mills South East
Les Mills South-East is owned by Florida-based Lifestyle Family Fitness, headed by former IHRSA President Geoff Dyer. Geoff is President of Les Mills South-East and Kelli Hatton is Executive Director. Les Mills South-East covers Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Les Mills Mid-West
Sara Kooperman founded SCW Fitness Education which owns Les Mills Midwest. SCW is one of America's foremost US fitness education and convention providers. SCW has produced more than 100 of its MANIA Fitness, Aquatic and Personal Trainer conventions, educated over 180,000 fitness professionals worldwide, offers almost 20 different fitness certifications, and produced more than 450 instructor training videos. Les Mills Midwest manages the LES MILLST programs in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, Ohio, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
Les Mills South Central
Les Mills South Central is owned and operated by Fitness Marketing Systems, LLC - a company formed by Ron and Sandy Franco and Robert and Pinky Dyer. Ron and Sandy Franco own a large club in Mandeville, near New Orleans, and Sandy is a past board member of IHRSA. Robert and Pinky Dyer own five fitness clubs in Fort Worth, Texas and Robert is a past board member of THRSA, the regional IHRSA grouping. Les Mills South Central manages Les Mills in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Wyoming.
Les Mills Northeast
Les Mills Northeast is owned and operated by HVLM, LLC - a company formed by Bill Austin, Mary Murphy, Kim Kenyon and Don Murphy (President). Bill Austin and Mary Murphy have been involved in the fitness industry since 1978, forming many strong relationships along the way. Bill is a former board member of NEIHRSA and Mary’s role as aerobics pioneer in the 1980s was pivotal to the success of many clubs’ group fitness programs. Don is also a US national trainer for the Les Mills martial arts program, BODYCOMBAT®, while Kim has 13 years experience in fitness, including periods spent managing clubs. Les Mills Northeast covers Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Les Mills West Coast
Les Mills West Coast is jointly owned by Les Mills and HDD Group, one of Les Mills’ most successful European distributors based in the Netherlands. Les Mills West Coast distributes the LES MILLS™ programs in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
