Profile

In early 2006, after an 11 year absence from the gym, I returned to Fitness First in Feeding Hills, MA and immediately started taking BodyFLOW. Being an avid but somewhat out of shape water skiier I figured that was a good place to start. Shortly after that I added RPM classes to my schedule where I have the pleasure of attending classes taught by US National RPM Trainer Leighann Novotney.

At the urging of several BodyFLOW instructors I started shadowing and getting used to being in front of the class.

Oct 12-14, 2007, Hampshire Hills, Milford NH: I attended BodyFLOW training lead by one of the best trainers around (so I'm told), Susan Laney. I suppose if you can teach me *anything* you must be pretty good at it!

Now I get to "share the stage" at Fitness First with Leighann, Sheila and Linda. Hopefully I'll be able to lead a class as well as they have for so long.

April 4-6, 2008: Completed BodyCOMBAT Training with Angel Santiago and Joel Freeman, two great trainers. After Friday I was sore all weekend until Tuesday. Guess I was working hard.

March 7-8, 2009: Just went through RPM Training at Salem Athletic Club in Salem, NH. Oddly, I don't feel the need to sit for anything right now. Standing is just fine, thank you very much. I met some more great and future great Les Mills Instructors.

Did you ever notice that going to a Quarterly is a little more fun with every new training?

I live in Southwick, MA with my lovely wife, Tracey, and our little black lab, Jake.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to make this Q either. I actually missed the one at Hampshire Hills (aaargh!) because I had already signed up for a conference in NYC that weekend. Your teaching schedule sounds almost like mine, and I don't have a 'day' job on top of it - you're one busy guy! Good luck on the RPM video. I'm sure you'll do great. Keep me posted!

Hi John - another Les Mills program, eh? And to think, when I met you, you had never taught a class before! Great job!

I don't know if you told me your name, but you were wearing a name tag:) And I knew you were from MA....
Cheers!

Hi John,

Yes that was me teaching at SAC! You looked like you were having fun outside the class, so I had to invite you in :)

I hope you enjoyed RPM training, and congrats on being done! Maybe I'll see you at the next Q!

Hey John - how's it going? Are you going to the Q in August? I'll be there. Are you doing any of the ed sessions on Friday? I've signed up for Flow. It was hard deciding between that and Combat, but I've seen Dan & Rach before, and would love to be taught by Jackie. Hopefully see you there!

Aha! So RPM is next for you, eh? See how easy it is to get hooked? I guess you'll be adding a little blue to your profile page in the coming months?? I'm not going to be able to go to the Q in Haverhill afterall. I'm going to go to a Yoga training instead that weekend. I think it will help me with my Flow, and I'm really getting more interested in it. I can't miss the August one though - seeing all those PDs in person will be great!
Good luck with Combat.
