Profile

Hi, my name is Keith Turner aka Keith and I am a LES MILLS JUNKIE (LMJ).

Sounds like a twelve step meeting but in this case it would be an eight step meeting -- one for every program. You know what I am talking about if you are here more than likely you are one too. The first step is admitting you are an LMJ.

I started this crazy process 4 years ago at the ripe old age of 37 just for a different type of challenge. I never imagined it would change my life so drastically. It all started so innocently. BodyPump was my first. There is no harm in one program right? I decided a year later to take on BodyCombat. How bad can two be? After that I was hooked. Then came BodyFlow as my next challenge. It was only to 'help' me with Tai Chi and increase my flexibilty so I could improve my Combat skills. Likely story right? Now, this year I have moved on to BodyAttack. It also started out as a simple 'personal challenge'. As the need arose in our club for more Attack instructors and since "I am the GFM" (because the GFM has to do everything - right) I thought it would be wise of me to 'push through' and complete the certification process. Yeah, yeah, yeah...whatever...what it really boils down to is that I LOVE IT!! I love it all - the music, the choreography, the energy, and most especially the people in my classes. I like seeing lives changed. And the process seems to never end after training for RPM in March 2008 I have totally resigned myself to the fact that it probably won't stop there. The good news is that there are only 3 programs remaining.... ;)

I believe as instructors we should always teach from our heart and be who WE are as individuals not cookie cutter representations of someone we are not. That is when the essense of the programs come forth. WE are the voice of fitness in our communities. May mine be loud, proud and heard by many.

Hey Keith!
Good to hear from you!! Wow, I can't imagine you NOT teaching Combat. But you definitely have your choice of programs. I love RPM, so I can understand that. Maybe I'll catch you around soon. If they ever have a big quarterly back into the ATL. . . it has been awhile. I just did a BP Intensive up in Dawsonville. That was really good.

Keith,

Hello! I passed my Flow training and have the release choreo well under way. If your team is practicing for the upcoming launch on a Monday or Thursday I would appreciate other Flow instructors checking out my technique. Let me know...Bridie :-)

Hi Keith,
I'm looking for advice. I switched the Bodyplex in Suwanee and I am having a horrible time building up my Combat numbers. They haven't had combat for a really long time and people just don't want to take the class. Any ideas on how to build this program up? I am the only Combat instructor there, so I'm my own one-man team leading this charge.

Hey you! its been a hot minute since I left you a message - how have you been?? Things are great hear, gearing up for the launches... wow there is not enough time in the day for everything!! We launch the 19th and 26th in Chesapeake and Virginia beach, and on the 14th in Norfolk. Whew! Plus we "launch" to all our regular classes - at least I do ;) They love it.
I am taking the plunge into combat training - considering signing up for the one at the beginning of August in NY. Not sure who is doing the training, but beggers cant be choosers. My work schedule doesnt allow me much freedom of choice in regards to the weekends. I am already missing 4-5 days of work for the Super. But anyways, I am really excited, combat will be stepping about 8 miles outside my box...LOL!

How is Jam going???

anyhow, talk to you soon!!!
