I am an expatriate from the 'land of the long white cloud' and have been living and working in Australia for the last 20 years. Yes, I still have a bit of a funny accent and travel across the ditch every few years to have an accent top up. I am married (no kids) but we do have just a few pedigree cats.
I have been BodyPump-ing for around the last nine years although have only recently become an instructor. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis just over six years ago, and thanks to my attitude, BodyPump, my doctor and Rheumatologist I have no damaged joints and am able to conduct a normal life. Having RA has made me more determined to keep exercising and to set an example to other people with health challenges that all is not lost and that we can still do it.
We (hubby and I) are in to the car scene and over the years have had a few street machines (modified street cars built after 1948 and before 1986). We have a truck load of trophies, and to date, Helga (my very purple HZ GTS) has taken home in the region of 12 to 15 trophies. She also features in this months (April 2008) issue of Extreme Holdens (FYI). The car club of which we are members is the ACT Street Machine Association (www.actsma.asn.au) celebrated it's 25th anniversary last year. I was the first female president of the club after 22 years of male domination. Bit of a milestone...
