Hello eveyone!!

I began my teaching journey many years ago when I taught informally after work to a group of friends.
Fast forward 12 years later, this computer database manager was DRAGGED into the health club business by her husband. We looked into the Les Mills programs via BTS, and I must say that that was the best thing that ever happened to us and our club. BTS required us as club owners to attend the Body Pump training so we could understand what our instructors were going through and what was required of them. It blew us away, and we had a new appreciation and respect for group exercise. I went ahead and certified, and somewhere in that process I fell in love with it. I had a smile everytime I taught.

Soon after, we brought Body Flow and then I trained for Body Step. I used to hate step because I felt so uncoordinated. I remember one step class in particular they were doing double steps--you know the one where you shared with two other participants going back and forth? Boy, did they get upset!! One of the participants came up and asked if she could help. :) I think that was the last one I attended for several years.

In December 2007, the club was sold and I later moved to Indiana. I was fortunate to find a club that had Les Mills and taught Body Pump there.

March 2009 WooHoo!! I moved to Indianapolis and am working at a club that has ALL the Les Mills programs--I'm SO lucky. I teach Pump and now I can finally teach a real, athletic, heart raising, body fat burning Step class!! Oh and guess what - I came to LOVE BodyFlow!!

It's a wonderful life! Kia Kaha - Peggy

Peggy, I will be moving to Indy soon and I'm wondering what club you teach at that has all the LM programs. I cannot seem to find one. I'm certified in Pump, Combat and Step (in progress). Thanks! Emily

Hi Peggy Sue. Arlington is about 1 hour away from where I live. Not Far from Arlington is Ft. Worth, (My husband works there) they have a several huge gyms that have the Les Mills programs. And it's big over there. Let me know when your moving and I'll hook you up with Crazy Carol She actually works with Les Mills south Central. Have you launched Body Step 75 and BodyPump 69 yet? We did yesterday. Shoot me if we ever launch during the week again and launch 2 programs on the same day!! I broke my toe over a month ago and has taken me forever it seems to learn the new step. What do you think of them? I like BodyPump step is growing on me. Anyway glad they did not show up for your class last night. Brenda

Hi Peggy Sue So great to hear from you!! So do you like your relocation, was it by choice or work purposes? It's great you now work at a gym with all Programmes, good to hear you're getting back into Balance, and yes you're right after teaching it regularly again you'll just fall back into it. Sometimes I think all I do is live and breath chorrey and nothing else that 4th programme made such a difference not that it is hard just with doing 9-11 classes per week learning and mixing releases constantly get quite time consuming. It's easier when there are multiple classes of a program but my 4th Vive I only have one class and doesn't look like we will be adding more, makes it hard when only one class then I have to go over the whole thing before I teach it again. Guess I'm lucky I don't find learning chorrey hard. Don't get on hear as regularly as I used to, just pop in to check the forums to see what's going on. Most of my time is used up on Facebook, huge following of LM instructors there too. Great to hear from you and good luck with teaching Balance/Flow!!!! Take Care Connie

Hi Peggy Sue, Wow I just read your post on the fourms people are just flat out of control and rude these days. Is there a way that your gym can either lock up the weights or have them put away during step classes? I think if those two idiots came back to class before class even began I would tell all members that weights are NOT an option in this class due to saftey issures not only for the members using the weights but for the members around them if the weights slipped out of there hands. Wow still can't beleive that. Good luck to ya.

Hey there Thanks for the message, always great to hear from you. Bad luck about the gym not having more LMI programmes but at least you have classes. The main thing is that you are enjoying the classes you take. Yeah, I've been doing Balance for years now, since #24 in fact. Started with step about 8 or 9 years ago then pump followed by balance and in October last year vive. And love Vive almost as much as step and balance. Take Care Connie

Hi Peggy Sue Hope you are well. You are going to love BS 71, orientation starts north-south for the first 4 tracks and energetic from the word go. Only bad thing I believe is the looonnnnng transition between tracks 2 and 3 but it works nevertheless. Track 5 really taxes the butt and thigh and 6 leaves you huffing and puffing, great energy there, 7 once again hurts the thighs and 8 has a great dance combo 9 will leave you wanting a drink and 10 energy plus. One good release after another. BB40 is also good I prefer this one to the last the first two tracks really relax and centre the body love the music for them. Standing strength is long but good balance has twisting poses which feel a little strange at first but great once your use to them track 5 revolving swan really different 6 and 7 keep the flow twist track beautiful as is the track 9. BP65, can't get excited with pump I'm afraid pump is good never love or hate it, but love to teach the programme. Take Care and stay in touch. Connie
