" I'm Back! "

To those of you who already know me, let me tell you how happy I am to finally be able to get my foot back in the Les Mills door!

To all who have not met me, my name is Tiffany and I used to teach BodyJAM at GX Fitness and Wellness and The Forum Salisbury. I am excited to be with the Les Mills team again.

BodyFLOW is such a gigantic part of my life and knowing that I touch other peoples spirits and souls helping their day be that much better or their mind be that much calmer, means everything to me.

For years I would take BodyFLOW and wish I could one day be able to teach as well as my instructor. It was love at first "Flow" :D

I am expecting 2009-2010 to bring bigger and better things for me, beginning with taking this step and making something out of something I'm so passionate about.

I cant wait to be back officially!

Oh, and if you'd like to get to know me, drop a message or a comment by anytime!

Thanks alot!

Love, Peace, and Fitness,

Tiffany

well, Miss Tiff, you are OF COURSE correct, i LOVED it, (well not as much as balance and jam) but still it was good... you're right, my crotch took a BEATING (ooooh that sounds dodgy....) dayum... it was very unhappy lol the rest of me was happy though! fAAAR out it's an INTENSE work out... 55 minutes and i thought i was gonna die... i could have gone less hard probably... but hell, you only live once, and a few days with sore quads ain't gonna kill me!! i figure, you might as well go as hard as you can, or get the fuck out of the saddle and dont waste your time ;) sooooooo much fun though :D yeah tell me about it (facebook) i'm freaking on there LITERALLY 24/7 too!! lol we can talk on there much easier than here... you'll NEVER shut me up :P i leave the house, i go on holidays, i go to training, i go to the gym, i go to uni, work, coffee, meet friends, the movies ETC. and leave facebook on, it's even on while i'm freaking (trying to) study.. addicted much? but i think anyone who's on THIS website pretty much has some degree of "addictive personality" lol!! yewwww now i just gotta try: pump, step, attack, vive (HMMM>>> :S) and combat and i've done them all lol!! :) have you tried all the classes???

HEYYYY!! :D how you A-DOIN!!?! i figured you were busy! it's all good! i figured you'd get back to me when you had a bit of time to read my freaking novel of a post!! :D i sure am on facebook!! you can add me if you look up: r.young@student.canberra.edu.au, alternatively look up "Emperess Bexi" i'm PRETTY sure i'm the only one on there ;) yeah - there's not a whole lot of literature on "bird pose" on the internet, and if i didn't know how to do it and read some of that stuff - well... far out, i'd have a smashed in face by now :) PERSISTENCE is the most important component of bird pose, i have zero doubt in my mind that you'll get it if you persist, you're plenty strong enough and definitely have the persistence :D "persistence makes permanent..." ;) also... i TOTALLY know what you mean about finding balance (FLOW) at a time in your life when you really needed it... i had a similar experience and "found" balance... you know... ironically, i actually FREAKING HATED IT for the first few months i did it... i just wanted to - MOVE!! lol but i finally settled into the rhythm and haven't looked back since... i'm going to my first ever RPM class in an hour or so.... lol wish me luck, i have a feeling i might hate it :D xx bexi <3

AHHHH YEAH tell me about it :) it was insane, i was like "no way am i paying $22 to get addicted to something that will most likely cost me $22 a day for the rest of my life ;)" ps sorry about the last post it was a freakin novel!! hahah i got a bit excited! ok now on to this bird pose business ;) if there's anything that i can help you with, it will probably be this... we teach our kids "bird pose" before they start learning press to handstand only we dont call it bird pose... but - this is what you do... start with your hands firmly on the ground... just slightly wider than the width of your shoulders... turn your hands IN slightly, not heaps just so that your thumbs are in a straight line... so you're crouching on the ground hands turned slightly in so your elbows turn slightly out... now THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT BIT: bend your fingers a bit so that your middle knuckles are off the floor and you're pressing into the floor with your finger tips. THIS IS WHERE YOU DRIVE YOUR BALANCE. from your fingertips.. i know it sounds weird but it's how gymnasts keep their balance in handstand for indefinite periods of time :) from there... place your knees where it feels comfortable on your arms, i find that when teaching my kiddies that ti's usually either at the bottom to the middle of the triceps... it depends alot on your proportions and body ratios.. and from there, lean forward, engage your abs - turn them on tight... feel like you're sucking your belly in to your back (like ab track) and dont be afraid to put your weight forward, most likely reason you cannot do it is not the strength component... you look very strong, it's that you cannot fathom putting your weight forward of your shoulders, which is why we have so much trouble teaching kids, coz they feel like they're going to "faceplant" lol which does happen from time to time... but this is part of learning :) use a crashmat infront of your face ;) in the gymnastics gym we find an EXCELLENT drill for learning this is get a fitball (swiss ball) whatever you call it, and make sure it's a big one like 75cms is preferable... (sorry i have NO idea what that is in inches) but so that when you're on it at your hips your hips are higher than your shoulders.. roll to your hips in high plank, from there, DON"T move your hands but roll the ball down to your thighs, you'll feel your weight forward of your shoulders, keep your abs on tight and push up through your shoulder blades (so your back is nice and rounded) you'll probably do this instinctively as you'll feel like if you dont hold everything in tight you'll fall on your face... from there once you master the fact that YES your face is only inches from the ground in bird and yes it's likely that you could fall on your face i'm pretty sure you'll get it in a jiffy :D let me know how this works out for you :D

mmmmm... teaching... lol i dont know... but it's funny you say that... my instructor has been at me to go do the course so i can teach... she says my technique is flawless.. (which i'm sure it's not but she's being nice) i then also found out she's leaving the state and is moving to another city so there was probably other motivation behind her wanting me to teach... as for teaching i was (and am) a qualified gymnastics coach, lol and i'm not particularly patient, i coach(ed) nationals and junior elites and lol i didn't like it very much!! jeeee since 2007 you've been on here! it sucks to hear about your jam thing... i know what it's like when good things come to an end... but maybe you can finish it up :) it's a shame to waste the time you've already invested! it seems to me to be that (ironically) jam isn't particularly popular!?!? in the 9 or so major gyms within a 20 minute driving radius to me only one offers jam, and at $22 a class i wasn't that keen to get addicted ;) i already spend a fortune on BALANCE!! :D i could probably ditch balance and get the said counselling with that money instead! :) yes the site is alright... there's some stuff in arbitrary places but aside from that it seems to work pretty good! so glad that "scorpion" thing got cleared up ;) i hated the thought of doing handstands at the regular gym :D how you going with your bird pose?

hello there miss Tiffany! :) nice to meet you too!! :) yeah... i'm totally addicted to balance (FLOW) i fully have a problem lol i probably need some counselling or something to get over my addiction!! i see you also teach JAM!! that's FREAKING AWESOME! i REEEEALLY wanna take jam but not alot of gyms here carry it! i cant find any! and the only one i could find was freakishly expensive for a class... my instructor for balance loves it and said i should try it!! i havent been on here long :) just a few days :) did you like "for the widows in paradise??" it's one of my favourite songs EVER!! i dont think i actually suggested it and they took my suggestion, i think it was already decided before i got on here! but still sooo glad they're using it!! :) what about yourself, how long you been on here???
