    Over the last few decades, Les Mills International CEO Phillip Mills has seen huge change in what drives club members and keeps them motivated. In this video, using exercise bikes as an example, he explores how the evolution of technology has helped create a more motivating environment for exercise that helps members achieve more.

    A lot has changed since the dull monotony of the old stationary cycles in the 1970s. The 1980s brought computerized bikes, with the ability to see more ride-related data. Cardio theatre arrived in the 1990s, with TV screens to keep riders engaged while they exercised.

    The first big leap, however, was the arrival of spinning classes in 1995. The precursor to today’s RPM and LES MILLS SPRINT, and boutique cycle studios, spinning added an instructor to the motivational mix and brought people together to train as a group.

    Jumping forward to 2015, Les Mills took cycling to the new frontier of exertainment with the motivating, immersive experience that is THE TRIP. So where to from here? What is the next stage in the evolution of motivation? Phillip Mills has an idea - and he shares it in this video.
