This Valentine’s Day is all about you. After all, the relationship you have with yourself is the longest, most important, relationship you’ll ever have.

Valentine’s Day isn’t just about candy and candles. It is a day to remember and value love, so why not do that for a person you’re with 24/7 – yourself. Best of all, indulging yourself doesn’t require spending up large on overpriced roses and chocolate. Here’s all you need to do:

  1. Treat yourself to a serious sweat session.

You know exercise is good for you and yet how often do you go into it thinking it’s a chore rather than a treat?

Think of everything good you get from a good sweat session – endorphins, improved blood flow, better skin elasticity, detoxification, strength. Give yourself the workout of a lifetime and bask in all it’s benefits.1

  1. Eat up.

Food is often used as a symbol of love - whether it’s cooking for your family or taking your partner out for dinner. This is not where love and food should stop. Part of loving yourself properly should be feeding yourself the good stuff. Give your body the gift of nutrients and indulge in good quality proteins and vegetables. Maybe even spoil yourself with a wheat germ shot or a green juice.

  1. Get some R&R.

If there’s one thing as important as food and exercise it’s sleep. Studies show that not getting enough sleep can put you at risk of everything from weight gain to poor cognitive function.2 So turn your alarm off this Valentine’s Day and give yourself the gift of a sleep-in.
