Often the information hub of the club,( i.e Reception) or people selling the facility are not given the knowledge and training to guide members towards a solution that might support their fitness goals. Whilst not all the team may have a fitness qualification, they should at least know the services on offer. Could you imagine going to an Apple Store and the team didn’t know what an iPad was?!
Here are a few questions worth considering:
- If you looked at your Group Fitness Programmes, would your team be able to confidently share with you the difference between BODYPUMP and BODYBALANCE?
- Have they actually experienced your classes to give a feel of what to expect?
- How would they motivate a member to participate?
We know that people that participate in Group Fitness visit more frequently and are 26% less likely to cancel. Therefore the more people we can engage in your Group Fitness Programme the more of your members will participate and the longer they will stay with you. But in order to educate the members on the benefits of each type of class we need to teach our teams.
