Education just got a lot more accessible

How do you deliver the best experience for your members? This can be achieved through innovative studio design, results driven workouts, but most importantly, awesome Instructors who help your members achieve their goals.

To keep on top of fitness trends and deliver safe, exceptional workouts we require Instructors to be equipped with the latest Quarterly Release combined with regular Ongoing Development (previously called Touchpoints).

Les Mills Releases (which includes the latest music, workout choreography and research) and Ongoing Development can be paid for by Instructors or the club. We want to let you know that if you invest in your Instructors this way, we've made it easier for you to do so. If not, nothing will change for you, but this highlights what will change for your Instructors.

What is Ongoing Development?

These are opportunities for Instructors to achieve education to keep their teaching fresh, relevant and safe for your members. These are delivered in several ways including Tribal Gathering events, Live Quarterly Workshops, Quarterly Workshop Webinars and Feedback Videos. Instructors achieve Development Points for attending this education and we require Instructors to achieve two Points per year, per programme they are certified in.

How can Instructors achieve Ongoing Development Points?

There are several different ways in which Instructors can achieve their Ongoing Development Points, including:

  • Quarterly Workshops

Programme specific workshops available both live and a Webinar! (Previously £16.50 each)

  • Tribal Gatherings

Full day experiences showcasing latest releases. (Previously £45 each)

  • Feedback Videos

Submit two tracks minimum for detailed feedback from our team of experts. (previously £16.50)

  • Advanced training

Revolutionises the way Instructors teach. (worth 2 Development Points. Sold separately from the Quarterly Ongoing Development payment. More info here.)

Addition of Quarterly Workshop Webinars!

Instructors now have the option of attending an Ongoing Quarterly Workshop Webinars, saving them time, travel and expense. No more worrying about getting classes covered!

You can still submit a video for feedback

This is another easy way for your Instructors to achieve a Development Point from getting personalised feedback on their training. These can be filmed during a regular class, so again, won’t be time consuming.

Easier to manage

Previously, Releases and Ongoing Development Opportunities were all purchased at different times and through different transactions, (which can be confusing for operators with multiple Instructors). Now, clubs can pay one quarterly payment of £35 per person, per programme which covers absolutely everything Instructors need.

This includes their quarterly Release (the materials they need to teach including, music, choreography, education, masterclass) Tribal Gatherings, Live Quarterly Workshops, Quarterly Workshop Webinars and Feedback videos.

All the hassle of handling multiple transactions is removed, and facilities can manage their Instructors Les Mills certifications and development much easier.

Unlimited Education

With everything being covered within the Quarterly payment, Instructors can take advantage of as much Ongoing Development as they like. This unlimited access means your Instructors can always be teaching at the top of their game, ensuring they are delivering the best member experience to keep them coming back.

The benefit of investing in your Instructors

It’s proven that great group exercise experiences keep gym members coming back and ensures they stay loyal to your brand for longer. (Those who attended Les Mills classes kept their membership on average 9 months longer than those who don’t.)

By enrolling your Les Mills Instructors in the new quarterly Releases and Ongoing Development payment of £35 per program, you are ensuring they have the access to all the education and development they need to deliver the absolute best member experience for your club.

All the hassle of handling multiple transactions is removed, and facilities can manage their Instructors Les Mills certifications and development much easier.

What is a Quarterly Workshop Webinar?

It is 45 Mins of specific Release education delivered by one of our expert Trainers with questions answered, and asked live during the webinar. There will be at least one in every programme and will include THE TRIP™. You will receive dates and times and will be able to book on as you do with live Quarterly Workshops.

How will Quarterly Workshop Webinars work?

We have introduced Quarterly Workshop Webinars largely due to feedback on accessibility and cost to travel to Quarterly Workshops. These new webinars will include all the great programme education you would expect from a live event. These webinars be 45 minutes and count as 1 Ongoing Development Point.

I am a club and am wondering how I pay for my team of Instructors to get their Ongoing Education

It is great that you are showing this appreciation of the value of Les Mills Releases and Ongoing Development. The process is much simpler now in that once you pay for a Release and Ongoing Development for your Instructor they will be able to take advantage of any Ongoing Development by making those bookings themselves.

As I pay for all of my Instructors the cost has increased for me as many do multiple programmes. Do I get a discount?

The cost for staying engaged with four Releases and two Ongoing Education Points has not increased, it is just structured differently now. There is no discount available for this as there is incredible value in the great Release materials including new music and choreography with a great masterclass and all the benefit of unlimited Ongoing Education.

I only pay for my Instructors music, why do I now have to pay for their Ongoing Development Points?

We have always encouraged Instructors to take advantage of as many development opportunities as possible and by including this in a single price we are able to make education even more accessible.

How and when do I need to raise a PO to enrol my Instructors into the Ongoing Development?

The process for paying for this benefit for your Instructors is to raise a purchase order and submit it to LMUK.PO@LESMILLS.COM during the period 24th April to 5th June 2019. Please include the Instructor's name and email address as well as the Programme you are paying for on the purchase order, the amount is £29.17 (ex VAT) making £35 (including VAT). Once this is processed the Instructor will remain able to book onto any Ongoing Development education opportunity for the coming quarter themselves via the Instructor Portal and they will also receive the Les Mills Release materials in the regular subscription run, that will be accessible in the usual way via the Instructor Portal and the Les Mills Releases App.

What if I certified late in the year do I still need to achieve two Ongoing Development points per year?

if you certify from October, you don't have to achieve your Ongoing Development Points for that year, however we encourage you to take advantage of the ongoing education available.

We hosted Quarterly Workshops and received free Instructor places on the workshop in return, what’s the incentive now?

Clubs who previously offered their space to host Quarterly Workshops and received free instructor places in return, will now be offered one free space on an Initial Module Training (IMT) of their choice (RRP £425). This includes two days Initial Module Training and two days Advanced Training.
