This Kiwi fitness pro talks about pizza, clowning around, the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and the perks that come from staying in shape.

If you could choose one person to work out with, who would it be and why?

My boy Romain from France. He’s also a Les Mills ambassador and we have so much fun together. We work hard together when we need to but can be total clowns too. You want to have fun while training!

What’s your favorite workout routine?

I actually don't have one favorite – I like mixing it up! I do all sorts of LES MILLS workouts, then some days I do strength training, sometimes HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) and sometimes I work out using the EMOM (Every Minute On the Minute) or AMRAP (As Many Rounds as Possible) structure. Anything for a challenge. Variety is key I reckon – not only for gains but for staying focused and staying fresh.

What does a cheat day look like for you?

Pizza! And some kind of raw slice (you can get a mean caramel one from The Raw Kitchen in Auckland). And I'd probably have some ice cream too. Man I love ice cream!

If you had to choose your last meal, what would it be?

If someone said this is your last day what do you want to eat? Hmmmm ... I would have to say chicken nuggets with sweet chili sauce wrapped in bread. Oh, and a milkshake! I had some random cravings as a kid ... I think it's the Polynesian side coming out in me 😂.

How do you relax, de-stress and chill out?

If I’ve been super busy and all jacked up I love chilling to relaxing music on the way home in my car. When I get home I watch a movie, or just spread out on my bed starfish styles.

If you could change one thing about your appearance, what would it be?

Lol, what a question! My cousins and mates always give a hard time about having skinny ankles and calves (which does means I can wear skinny jeans 😂) but maybe it would be nice to plump them up a little, haha!

What characteristic do you most admire in other people?

Definitely people who are real! These days social media is such a big deal and we quickly define people based on what they post online. You could have someone who posts all this fitspo, motivational stuff but it real life they are the complete opposite. Just be real man!

Name the last book your read, the last movie you watched, and track you currently have on high rotate.

The last book I read was Of Mice and Men in high school. The last movie was more of a mini series, Band of Brothers and the song I love at the moment is It Won't Kill Ya by The Chainsmokers.

What social media can’t you live without?

Probably Instagram. I love the surfing and snowboarding feeds.

If you could have one superpower, what would you choose?


What’s the best non-physical thing about staying in shape?

You just feel good, confident and you love life.

Who should play you in the movie based on your life?

Will Smith from back in his Fresh Prince of Bel Air days (not the Will Smith now, he's too mature!)
