BH Live, a registered charity, and leading leisure and event operator, provides sport and leisure activities at leisure centres across Dorset and Hampshire.

At the start of each new year, BH Live leisure centre members and local residents are encouraged to participate in a free-to-attend fitness event with back-to-back Les Mills group training classes taught by BH Live Active instructors. The day is generally held at Bournemouth International Centre to accommodate the thousands of class participants who are eager to take part.
As part of its group training programme, the charity partners with Les Mills™ to deliver a range of classes for strength, cardio, mind and body wellness.

“Our Les Mills™ launch events are one of the most anticipated days in our community events calendar. They are always lots of fun, and an excellent opportunity to showcase some of the classes we offer as part of our regular group exercise timetable. More importantly, we get to inspire more people to try out a new way to stay active. It’s such an energetic way to kick start the year!”
- Rob Cunningham, BH Live’s Director of Leisure and Business Development
The purpose of the day is to inspire more people to get active, and to showcase the latest Les Mills programme releases. This year BODYPUMP HEAVY™ also featured in the popular line up.
BODYPUMP HEAVY™ is a tempo-based strength training class inspired by traditional lifting techniques. Designed for both beginners and experienced lifters, the class combines powerful music with motivating group energy, transforming classic weightlifting into a fun, social, and highly engaging workout experience.

“The response to BODYPUMP HEAVY™ has been incredible with full classes and waitlists straight away. It’s slower, heavier, and more focused on strength, which really appeals to gym-floor users. We’re already seeing demand to add more classes. The music has landed well with members; it’s different, but it gives more space for coaching.”
- Scott, Fitness Manager, BH Live (Portsmouth)

“As I get older, the slower pace really works for me and makes it easier to focus on my technique. I loved it, and I’ll definitely do it again.”
- Vanessa, BH Live Active Member (18 years of BODYPUMP™)
“My legs were on fire, but I loved it. It fits perfectly with the strength training I already do.”
- Mike, BH Live Active Member
