Club of the Month February: West Wood Club Westmanstown, Ireland

22.01.2025

Club of the Month

West Wood Club Westmanstown is dedicated to delivering exceptional member experiences by supporting the growth of its instructors and staying at the forefront of fitness innovation.

West Wood Club Westmanstown was among the first clubs in Ireland to introduce LES MILLS STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT, LES MILLS FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH, and LES MILLS SHAPES, ensuring members have access to the latest innovations. By launching the Innovation Collection programming, they have seen class attendance shoot up 15% and increased member engagement with an 100% turnout for all launch events.

The club features an immersive cycle studio with a packed timetable, offering THE TRIP, RPM, and LES MILLS SPRINT. Additionally, members can enjoy a wide range of classes, including BODYPUMP, BODYBALANCE, BODYATTACK, BODYCOMBAT, and LES MILLS CORE, providing a range of different fitness options for all.

With over 7,500 members and 15 instructors, West Wood Club Westmanstown can deliver up to 100 live group training classes every week.

What are some recent highlights or successes you have had in the club?

Back in October last year, we hosted a major launch event for BODYCOMBAT 100, featuring International Les Mills Presenter Marlon Woods who taught in Ireland for the first time ever. He was joined by several Les Mills presenters who are currently active in West Wood Clubs. Class capacity was 40 people per session but we had close to 60 in the room at the end, the class was so oversubscribed! The event was a huge success with our members, with them describing it as “the best event we had. It was a celebration of members and Instructors inside and outside of the studio.”

What makes your club so special?

Our club is truly special because of two key elements: our members and our staff, who together create an incredible atmosphere every day.

What can other studios learn from you?

Stepping into a studio and creating magic doesn’t just happen, it’s the result of hard work, preparation, and dedication. Every class is meticulously planned, starting with the IMT that all instructors complete before stepping on stage. It’s about listening to tracks repeatedly, in the car or at home, until every beat and movement becomes second nature. It’s the ongoing training, commitment, and passion of our team that bring each class to life. Most importantly, it’s about having the right mindset and the drive to push yourself to own the stage.

Why you are partner of Les Mills and what the partnership brings to your club?

We are partners because we want to be the best in business and Les Mills are the best when it comes to classes and group fitness. Our goal is to ensure that every instructor receives top-tier training so they can deliver outstanding classes and provide the best experience for our members. This commitment ensures consistency, so no matter who is teaching, every class meets the same high standards.
