We caught up with Wenche Aasmundsen, General Manager at Sense, to learn how LES MILLS REFORMER and CEREMONY HYROX are helping create fresh member experiences and drive long-term growth.
Why did you decide to invest in LES MILLS REFORMER and CEREMONY HYROX?
We want to offer training experiences that help more people find something they enjoy and want to stick with long term. LES MILLS REFORMER and CEREMONY HYROX give us two very different ways to achieve that. One focuses on control, strength and body awareness, while the other is all about physical capacity, challenge and the satisfaction that comes from pushing yourself.
We had already invested in Pilates Reformer, so bringing in LES MILLS REFORMER felt like a great next step. It allows us to offer our existing Reformer members even more variety, while also attracting new people to this type of workout. It gives us a strong frame work to continue developing both our offering and our instructor team.
With CEREMONY HYROX, our goal is to make this increasingly popular training format more accessible through a supportive and social group environment. We see huge interest in HYROX-style training and as a club, we want to stay at the forefront of fitness trends in Kongsberg. We hope it will attract new members while also giving our existing community more opportunities to challenge themselves and progress.
How do these concepts complement your existing offering?
At Sense, we already offer a broad mix of gym training, personal training and group fitness. These concepts add another dimension to that experience and give members even more reasons to choose our club. We want our members to be able to grow with us, even as their goals and interests change over time.
How do these concepts create more variety for your members?
Variety isn't just about what you do for workout, it's also about what motivates you to keep showing up. Some people are drawn to music, flow and precise movement. Others thrive on measurable challenges and testing their limits. There's no need to choose one workout style over another.
How does this investment help you meet current fitness trends and member needs?
We're seeing strong demand for both Reformer workouts and workouts that combine strength and endurance. At the same time, we're careful not to invest in something simply because it's popular right now. For us, it's about making workout accessible, offering high-quality coaching and creating a community that helps people stay consistent. These concepts allow us to meet a wider range of needs while keeping everything under one roof.
How does it feel to be the first club in Norway to launch LES MILLS REFORMER?
It's incredibly exciting. We're proud that a local club in Kongsberg can bean early adopter and help introduce something new to the market. But being first also comes with responsibility. We want to make sure we deliver a great experience from day one. Ultimately, our focus is on creating something that members love and want to come back to do again.

Has this investment helped develop or inspire your instructor team?
Introducing new concepts creates a fantastic opportunity for learning and growth. It challenges our instructors to develop new skills, share experiences and think differently about how they coach and engage members.
It's also opened the door for new instructors to join the team. Developing our existing instructors is incredibly important, and at the same time creating opportunities for new talent. One of the things I value most about working with Les Mills is the quality of its instructor training. As a business owner, it's reassuring to know the programs and education are built on such strong foundations and high standards.
Where does your drive to stay ahead of the curve come from?
It comes back to our purpose. Our slogan is "Strong Enough for Life," and we want everything we offer to reflect that. We want to help people discover the joy of movement and build the physical capacity they need for the lives they want to live. To do that, we must keep learning, stay curious and be willing to evolve. Our members, our team and our ambition to create a truly positive training environment are what continue to drive us forward.
What would you say to other clubs considering investing more in group fitness?
Group fitness has a unique ability to create connection and belonging. It offers expert guidance, accountability and a sense of community that keeps people coming back.
A successful investment requires more than new equipment or another class on the timetable. Invest time in quality training, involve your instructors in the process and have a clear plan for how new participants will be welcomed and supported. Enthusiasm is a great starting point, but it's the quality and consistency delivered over time that truly make an investment successful.
