BRYCE HASTINGS: WE ASKED, HE ANSWERED

As Les Mills’ head of research and the technical advisor for all LES MILLS programs, Bryce Hastings takes the science of effective exercise very seriously. Other aspects of life, not so much …

NAME: Bryce

AGE: Biological or Chronological?

OCCUPATION: Head of Research, Technical Wet Blanket

LIVES: Getting one as we speak

If you could choose one person to work out with, who would it be and why?

Stephen Hawking – I’d smash him (yes, I’ve been drinking).

What’s your favorite workout routine?

LES MILLS GRIT™ – it just works, there’s no beat, and no one looks cool afterwards.

What does a cheat day look like for you?

Wine, cheese, Netflix repeated several times.

If you had to choose your last meal, what would it be?

Bluff Oysters in Chardonnay Vinegar.

How do you relax, de-stress and chill out?

By combining the last two answers.

If you could change one thing about your appearance, what would it be?

Better shoes.

What characteristic do you most admire in other people?

A questioning mind that would doubt any answer I’ve just written.

Name the last book you read, the last movie you watched, and track you currently have on high rotate.

The most significant book I’ve recently read is Homo Deus by Yuval Noah Harari. The last movie I watched is pretty predictable, Dunkirk. The track I have on high rotate? What’s high rotate? Is that like Netflix?

What social media can’t you live without? Favorite feeds?

I am on Linkedin – does that count?

If you could have one superpower, what would you choose?

To be able to do a Downdog.

What’s the best non-physical thing about staying in shape?

Watching other people who work out.

Who should play you in the movie based on your life?

Stephen Hawking – so he can get his own back from question one.
