Introducing CEREMONY HYROX and CEREMONY HYROX MAX

14.05.2026

Instructor-Insights

Based on the successful LES MILLS CEREMONY™ functional circuit format, the new programs will support HYROX training while retaining the signature blend of music, motivating coaching, community, and science-backed movement that Les Mills is known for.

Having started as a small indoor fitness race concept in Germany in 2017, HYROX has evolved into a global phenomenon – combining races and functional workout stations in a format that is simple to understand, but demanding to complete.

Chances are, you’ve already seen HYROX classes in action on your way to the studio – athletes pulling hard on SkiErgs, pushing sleds across turf, and smashing targets with wall balls. Whether prepping for a big race or chasing their next personal breakthrough, the energy is unmistakable.

Now, with Les Mills becoming the Official Group Training Program Partner for HYROX, that energy is being brought into Les Mills group training. The goal is to inspire millions of gym members through the motivation and community-building power of global fitness racing.

"HYROX is all about community, and so is Les Mills. Now we've come together, the power of these two communities is unstoppable!" – Erin Maw, Les Mills Creative

With a combined global footprint of more than 30,000 gym partners, this will mean more classes to teach, more clubs to work with, and more people to coach, motivate, and support in their progress.

The collaboration will kick off with the launch of two new group training programs: CEREMONY HYROX and CEREMONY HYROX MAX, built on the successful LES MILLS CEREMONY functional circuit format.

The new programs

Both are 45-minute, coach-led functional circuit classes built around eight exercise stations, combining cardio, strength, and power in a structured group training environment.

Let’s explore the differences in their intensity and intent.

CEREMONY HYROX

CEREMONY HYROX is the evolution of LES MILLS CEREMONY. Same moves, same feel, same inclusive experience – now with a name that reflects its HYROX-style conditioning.

Each class is designed for broad participation and all fitness levels, moving through stations using varied equipment, structured intervals, and scientifically designed programming that evolves with each release. The program focuses on building general strength, conditioning, and fitness confidence in an accessible group training format.

CEREMONY HYROX Studio is the low-equipment version. It follows the same structure, with timers and cues embedded in the music, no TV screens, and equipment typically found in a studio.

CEREMONY HYROX MAX

CEREMONY HYROX MAX is a higher-intensity class for members who want to push further or get race-ready, with progressions, partner-based formats, and a greater performance focus.

It follows the same 45-minute, eight-station structure as CEREMONY HYROX, but with HYROX-inspired movements such as wall balls, sled pulls, and farmer’s carries, ensuring each session reflects elements of the race.

Each CEREMONY HYROX MAX release includes two progression options alongside the base workout, designed to progressively increase intensity and metabolic demand.

CEREMONY HYROX MAX Studio is a low-equipment, screen-free version, with timers and cues embedded in the music. Minor adjustments to working sets and exercise rotation may occur, while the overall intensity and movement patterns remain aligned with the full-equipment version.

Training

For launch, training will be limited to existing LES MILLS CEREMONY Instructors only. If you're already a certified LES MILLS CEREMONY Instructor, there's nothing you need to do right now – you can continue teaching as you have been. You will be contacted by email and guided through the next steps to transition to CEREMONY HYROX and CEREMONY HYROX MAX.

If you are not an existing LES MILLS CEREMONY Instructor and are interested in joining the movement, stay tuned!
