Why do I need insurance?

Having an up to date and comprehensive insurance policy for teaching and personal training clients could be your only protection against thousands of pounds being lost or claimed against you and your business if something goes wrong.

No matter how large or small the incident, claim settlements are constantly on the rise and some customers just aren’t happy for refunds or the old-fashioned “goodwill” gestures anymore if they feel they have come to harm or been damaged in any way whilst in your care. Solicitors fees continue to soar and can easily be up to ten times higher than that which the actual claimant successfully gets awarded themselves.

Being a Les Mills instructor you will undoubtedly have high standards but if someone injures themselves in any way either directly or indirectly whilst in your class / session, you could see a claim hit tens of thousands of pounds. These circumstances are unfortunately all too common these days. So even if you think your activities are low risk, one small incident could spiral to incur costs higher than you ever imagined.

This highlights how important it is to protect yourself adequately, even if you are only planning on working with friends and family, there is still the risk a claim could be made against you. You might think the cost of an insurance policy is one you could do without, but the consequences if it all goes wrong, far outweigh the relatively low cost of the policy premium.  

Don’t forget your insurance! If your business is in its early stages and you are not insured, any claim could literally end everything before it’s even begun.
